Ambulance Call Out Guidance for Practices

Please note that London Ambulance Service (LAS) call-out guidance now states that: “In a life-threatening situation or an emergency request, it is preferable for the attending clinician to make the call to LAS to ensure accurate information is given about the situation.”

However, it should be noted that: “Where delegation is unavoidable, the individual making the request for support should be able to provide reasonable answers to triage questions about the patient’s condition…”.

The full guidance is available, as well as a simple poster that makes the guidance clear and provides a direct number to call.

Please ensure that all clinical rooms have this information available.
