As you know, North Central London (NCL) is committed to ensuring that patients continue to get the best possible care within the current financial constraints faced by the health and social care system. In order to achieve this we need to better manage patient demand and make sure that patients access the right care.
Key to this is reducing unnecessary investigations and inappropriate and avoidable outpatient referrals or admissions to secondary care.
On that note, this week there are two success stories to tell, linked to Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) schemes: one about the success of clinical advice and guidance and the other about the single point of access for musculoskeletal referrals. Thank-you for your engagement with these two schemes.
As we move into 2020, I wanted to take a moment to thank all practice staff for their hard work in 2019 and to recognise how your efforts in managing demand have helped improve patient care.
