Islington CCG Clinical Lead for Child and Adult Safeguarding
We are inviting expressions of interest for a GP clinical lead for child and adult safeguarding for Islington CCG. The roles will commence on Friday 10 January 2020. Due to the CCG re-structure the posts will initially run until 31 March 2020 with a view to extend.
Expressions of interest are welcome for either child or adult safeguarding as separate roles or combined.
The adult safeguarding role provides four sessions per month. The child safeguarding role provides eight sessions per month. These are statutory roles as the Named GP for Safeguarding and you will support the safeguarding framework across the borough, providing strong strategic leadership and clinical expertise to support Islington CCG.
Expressions of interest, of no more than 250 words, outlining why you are interested in the role, are welcome from those with or without particular experience in this field.
We recognise the need for supervision as part of this role, to provide support and opportunity for reflective practice commensurate with the nature of the work. You will join an energetic safeguarding team committed to the safety and wellbeing of our residents in challenging and vulnerable circumstances. Further information on safeguarding team meeting times
The named GP needs to be available to attend essential meetings at the following times:
Named GP for child safeguarding:
- ISCB Board, Thursday morning every two months
- NHS England run named GP meeting, currently Wednesday morning (this may change)
- Designated and named GP meeting, Tueday afternoon twice monthly (but these vary)
Named GP for adult safeguarding:
- Islington Adult SG Board, Wednesday afternoon every two months
- NHS England named GP meetings, Wednesdays often morning sometimes afternoon (this may change)
There are meetings with the safeguarding team and times vary but these are usually held on Wednesday/Thursday.
It is helpful to have some flexibility in your timetable.
As part of the role we would expect you to be available via email/phone daily if there are urgent safeguarding issues.
