Bladder and Bowel Care Service

The Bladder and Bowel Care Service is a nurse-led team, providing assessment, treatment and support to adults and children with bowel and bladder problems.

Conditions that can be treated by this service include:

  • Overactive bladder
  • Functional, stress and urge incontinence
  • Faecal incontinence
  • Neurological bladder and bowel incontinence
  • Nocturia
  • Nocturnal enuresis
  • Constipation.

This service teaches pelvic floor exercises, bladder drill, intermittent catheterisation, toilet training and provide products to manage incontinence.

Eligibility criteria


  • Must be an Islington resident 
  • Aged 5+ years, for day or night bladder problems
  • Aged 3+ years, for help with ongoing management to constipation and or delayed toileting


  • Children aged <3 years
