Daylight - Day Centre for Adults with LD

Add to CPD Subscribe to page updates Start a discussion

Daylight is a day centre for adults with varying degrees of learning disabilities. LD has to be the primary disability, however a lot of people using Daylight have additional physical needs, with some falling under dual diagnosis.

The service is increasingly outcome focussed, and tries to meet the identified needs of an individual so that they can develop new skills and lead as independent a life as possible. Integrating into the community and using facilities in the community are integral parts of the service at Daylight.

On site activities include: catering, art, drama, music, pottery, sewing, knitting, Boccia, yoga, gardening, dance, wheelchair dance, massage and multi-sensory.

Community access includes swimming, museums, galleries, bowling, hydrotherapy, trampolining, ice skating.

Service Opening Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 16:00

To qualify for the service at Daylight an individual must have a diagnosis of Global Learning Disabilities and a concurrent significant impairment in social and adaptive functioning (e.g. within the autism spectrum).
