GPs can access Clinical Advice and Guidance via e-RS

The Sheila Sherlock Liver Centre, based at the Royal Free Hospital, treats conditions that include:

  • Liver damage
  • Acute liver failure
  • Liver cancer
  • Biliary, metastatic and pancreatic cancer
  • Alcohol and viral hepatitis (swelling of the liver)
  • Genetic liver conditions

With treatments including

  • Liver biopsies and endoscopies
  • Liver transplants
  • Gallstone treatment

The liver out-patient clinic is supported by dietetics, specialist clinical nurse specialists in viral hepatitis and hepatology and liver transplant co-ordinators.

University College London Hospitals 

Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Service provides treatment for, among other conditions, oesophageal and gastric cancers as well as for benign conditions (acid reflux and motility disorders). There is close collaboration with the GI physiology and laser centre.
