Covid-19 update


21 May 2020: Please refer all suspected upper GI cancer to the 2WW team. At present direct-access endoscopy is unavailable due to the Covid-19 outbreak. For full guidance, see the NCL Covid-19 website.


Urgent referrals can be made for the following suspected cancers using the two-week (2WW) pathway:

  • all children's
  • breast                                            
  • central nervous system
  • colorectal
  • eye
  • gynaecology
  • haematological
  • head and neck
  • lung
  • sarcoma
  • skin
  • upper gastrointestinal tract
  • urology

Patient information

Please ensure that patients referred are aware of the urgency and reason for their referral and are available and willing to attend an appointment within two weeks.

Forms for urgent referrals can be found in ISL EMIS under ISL global documents.

Search the Pan-London Suspected Cancer Referral Forms using the keyword format: 'Urology Suspected Cancer' etc.

Completed referral forms should be sent to the relevant hospital as instructed on the form. Located at the top of each form are details of London hospitals, including email addresses and telephone numbers. 

Please note: 2WW gynae service referrals to the Royal Free Hospital are now triaged:

GP practices should book an appointment but not give the appointment details to the patient. The gynae department will triage the referral and contact the patient within two working days. Please ensure you attach the 2WW referral form within 24 hours.
